It's not uncommon to use two or more counter materials in one kitchen.
ABOVE & BELOW: A recently updated kitchen showing new counters made of Corian brand solid-surface for the sink area, and Italian marble for the peninsula and adjacent counter. The solid-surface material allows for an integrated sink, which is the primary reason the customer chose it. The Italian marble, though some complain of being too soft compared to granite, is an authentic European counter material, especially in Italy where traditional old-world cooks season the counter with butter to seal it.
BEWLOW: Before pictures of the recently completed Stanley kitchen, '08. It was a complete remodel including a new floor, cabinets, counters, trim, laundry room cabinets and sink, appliances. This first picture is before.

BELOW: The same view after kitchen completion.

The White Lake Historical Society, in White Lake Township, had several projects for us this past year: painting the Kelley-Fisk Farm house and garage, re-roofing the chicken and pig houses, and garage, building a new pavilion.

ABOVE: Mark checks to see that column remains plumb, after concrete being placed in hole.
ABOVE & BELOW: Pavilion with slab and lighting completed.
In 2007 we did a kitchen remodel, and installed a pitched roof over a sun room for the Davis family. Last year we were called back to build a first-floor bath and laundry.
BELOW: Extra wide bi-fold door, using Johnson bi-fold door hardware allows full access to the first floor laundry room, that is located in the space of an old half bath.

BELOW: The new bathroom was designed with barrier-free access in mind. The pocket door going into the room, and the shower opening are both 36" wide or greater. The shower has no curb.

ABOVE: A new fence in the Seminole Hills neighborhood adds a historic element to a charming early twentieth century home.
BELOW: I leveled this deck in Wabeek south by installing new columns as well as adding additional columns. I also added a trellis screen to obscure the unfinished space below the deck.
ABOVE: A barrier free ramp for Ms. Lewis in Pontiac, completed in June of '09.
BELOW: A tennis storage shed for White Lake Township's Lakeland High School tennis teams. It's made of 6" steel stud framing, 12" on center, with cement board siding and commercial steel door. We completed this project just in time for the girl's tennis team to begin their season.
Two projects we did last fall were unfortunately due to a previous contractor not doing adequate quality workmanship.
BELOW: This concrete porch was brand new when I was called to quote fixing it. Our only option was to remove the porch and steps and start over. The finish on the porch slab was very poor, and the steps were a combination of improper and unsafe heights, and the wrong kind of steps: pre-cast concrete.

BELOW: Our new porch has poured steps, a new section of sidewalk where the two come together, and re-use of the old railing.

BELOW: This roof-top balcony had an inadequate roofing system from the beginning, and an improperly designed and built deck floor that sat on the roofing. Upon our removal of the deck floor we were able to see all of the deficiencies. We installed a 2-ply rubber roof, a new deck floor, and new drip edge to allow run off from the roof to shoot away from the vinyl siding. This photo was taken before our work began, but looked essentially the same after.
