What is good design? It depends on who you ask. One thing is for sure, it's pleasing to the eye, even if one doesn't understand why, it works, and it makes life better.

     I have a good eye for sizing up proportions and balance. I also have the benefit of trial and error in designing projects for over thirty years.

     I have had an input on virtually all of my projects when it comes to the design. I have designed most of my work, having the parameters of the physical project, and the requisites of the customers, to work with. Around these things I determine how things should best be arranged, what materials to use, how they will best function.

     Here are some projects I have designed and built.

Before my hands-on experience in design, I had two years of architectural design and drafting.

     My extensive library covers academic building and mechanical matters, but I also have an extensive collectioin of books on design, from colonial to contemporary times.
