ADA EQUAL ACCESS                      BARRIER FREE CONSTRUCTION

The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 serves to protect those who are physically challenged but, also sets standards for building and access for those facing all kinds of disabilities. As part of our philosophy, that all building be friendly, we proudly offer any and all features that are necessary to meet ADA standards when asked for by our customers. We also strive to make housing as friendly and accessible as possible under non-ADA standards and conditions. Many areas of the home building and improvement process needn't be exclusive when it comes to those facing challenges.

BELOW: The Davis bath we built in 2008 has a barrier-free shower stall, no curb, 36" plus, wide opening. The tile floor slopes gently into the shower floor area. A shower pan extends well beyond the shower floor and walls into the room, a critical element. Also, note grab bars.

This is a newly extended barrier-free ramp for a wheelchair bound customer. The previous ramp did not meet ADA standards, and was unsafe for wheelchair navigation. This new ramp was created by raising and adding to the existing ramp. A new deck was installed on all of the ramp. This ramp is 30' long and has an overal height at the high end of 30". June 2009.
